Is there a way to turn off that thing called AIM TODAY that pops up every time you sign on?
Yes, go to My AIM > Edit Options > Edit Preferences > Sign On/Off and then uncheck the box next to “Show AIM.com window at sign on.” Apply the changes, and completely exit AIM. The next time you run AIM, no AIM Today window.
I’ve tested using AIM 5.9 — your mileage may vary.
Jeff, this didn’t work for me, I have tried everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please help me, that AIM today thing is so aggrevating!

It didn;t work, what else can I do?
This is one of the ways of doing it, another way of doing it is to go into useful tools and when it closes it gives you the option to not view the window i think.
I found some solution in another site, it says aim today can be turned off via the registry.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAmerica OnlineAOL Instant Messenger (TM)CurrentVersionUsersYOURSCREENNAMEHEREMisc]
“ShowAimTodayWindow”=dword:00000000
Save the above code snipplet to a text file and name it aimtoday.reg
Remember to replace YOURSCREENNAME with your actual screenname
Double click on the file, and add to registry when prompted. Quit and restart AIM.
This is of course AT YOUR OWN RISK, but it works.
You can use This Patcher to fix it.
If you have edited your res.dll file it will not work.
