Hey. if any1 could be of help id REALLY appreciate it…well heres the problem: i log onto yahoo and try to send a message..at the bottom of the text box i can see what im going to type. when i hit enter though, the box iz blank….also at the bottom it will say someone iz typing a message..but i cant see nothing in the box..i emailed yahoo about the problem..and tried all the troubleshooting steps..i even re-downloaded yahoo messenger..still nothing..its really frustrating so someone help PLEASE!..Thanx!
Yahoo has problemz since the other day… Even the chat roomz… I entered into a chat room in one of the “user roomz” It showed me so many roomz and how many pipol are in but when i entered n0t even 1 pers0n is there… Itz like it froze or sumthin… They’ve gotta fix this!! 😡
make sure all the scripting settings are enabled in tools>>internet options>>security, custom level…
Do you mean format and reinstall or just install over the current version? Because my friend can’t format her machine due to the existing server 🙁

Re-Installing Windows isn’t the true solution, more likely, when you re-installed Windows, settings were changed back to default.
Maybe try to reset IE to defaults…
I tried resetting all IE settings to default and even restarted the machine, no use :(. Reinstalling windows is sure shanging something, but what is it changing is the question…Any other advice?
you should have tried repairing IE.
Yahoo! Messenger uses IE interfaces, if something in IE goes wrong, messenger will be affecected too.
So you mean, there’s no connection between a server running on the machine and yahoo messenger?
I am asking because this started happening to the friend I mentioned only after she installed a server on her machine…

I am sorry for replying to this too late but my friend was on vacation so couldn’t do anything on her machine.
I went into her “Control Panel” and accessed “Add/Remove Programs” but couldn’t find Internet Explorer or Microsoft Internet explorer anywhere. She has IE 5.5 installed on her machine. I thought of downloading the 5.5 version again and installing. But I am not able to find the download anywhere because Microsoft has already released IE 6. And for work reasons, she needs to have only 5.5 installed.
Freddy can you please help me on this? I have no idea what to try now.
