Hello all! My name is Juan David and i´m from Colombia.
I tried to post this as a comment here but everytime i pressed the submit button the message field got reset and no comment was post.So this thread is related to the subject “Connect Google Talk to AIM, MSN, & Yahoo”
I used the aszlig.net server to add the msn transport and it works great! thanks for this nice trick!
However, when the MSN contacts have an avatar, Google Talk shows up a Black box, but doesn´t show the avatar.
I don´t mind Gtalk showing the avatar, i know making msn contacts to appear in gtalk is already too much, but it would be great if there were some way to disable these black and dull squares from appearing.
Tried disabling avatars in msn via Miranda, but the boxes still show up. Btw it´s strange nobody has mentioned this happening before. Am I the only one?Probably not. Each network has its own way of doing avatars, and sometimes they don’t work well together. This is not the most perfect way of utilizing the Jabber part of Google Talk, and beggars can’t be choosers. 😉
The newest version of the msn transport fixes this, or something has fixed it (maybe google changed something). Also the problem with contacts appearing to go offline when they actually havent is fixed. i cant find any faults now.
Im using the latest version of gtalk 1.0.0.92 and using the msn transport at http://www.jabber.no
