MemberThis is ISP dependent, i.e the people you get your internet from.
Because I have no clues to your ISP, I can just send you to my page which has the various fixes, http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/profiles.php
You just select your ISP or other from the list to the corresponding problem (i.e. Not Found on Server).
Hope it helps, if not, reply here with your ISP (their name).
Unfortunately there is not a fix for all, it’s down to the use of transparent caches sometimes, and for that, there is no user fix.

MemberYou’re using the wrong fix.
When you go to my page you will see a list of errors on the left in colour bands. Opposite that you see various platforms and ISP, choose the one that matches from the same colour.
You didn’t state your ISP again…

MemberFew things to check, first is the other link above.
Second is to see if you’re using a proxy on your dial up connection, (tools, internet options, connections, select connection, click settings, if the box for using a proxy is ticked untick it and try, if no webpages load afterwards, tick the box again).
If you did the above and no webpages load, your ISP is requiring a proxy server, you will have to contact them about it.
If you tried all my options and profiles still result in the not found error, you ISP uses a transparent proxy cache to save bandwidth, data in the cache is corrupt and you need to contact them about it.

Memberi have tried to checked and unchecked my proxy server..my IE still be able to connect to net….but anyway I followed the instruction by using the url ” http://p7.pf.scd.yahoo.com/yahooid ” ….it works for me….why is that?
thanks again freddy

MemberThese transparent proxies are used by ISPs to cache data, they cache the data to save the ISP bandwidth, next time someone requests same page it’s laoded from ISPs computers, which means they don’t have to go find it from somebody elses, i.e. the original location.
The Yahoo! profile data in these is corrupt.
Using some of thos alternative URLs may fix it because they don’t exist in the cache and resolve to alternative servers. When all else fails, these work arounds can be used, and http://www.chat-help.co.uk/profiles
The only way to get your ISP to do something is to bug them to fix it…

MemberYou’re both using the same ISP?
Well it’s the same here regarding the bugging them. Same everywhere. I tell users of all ISPs who have the problem to contact their ISPs, they either get no response, or a response saying how it’s not down to them blah blah.
They’ve taken your money, what do they care!

Memberpeony when I mean the special the special url…it means you have to type in your own yahoo id on the address…for example if your yahoo id is peony….you should have the url like this –> ” http://p7.pf.scd.yahoo.com/peony ” but dont forget to log in first if you wanna to edit your profile…i hope it work for you…if it didnt…you always can count on freddy 😀
and YUP we are using the same ISP…you dont have choices at all when you live in malaysia…there is the one and the only ISP available in malaysia
