every one has had problems with msn 6.0 so you are all trying to uninstall it well i found a very easy way to get every trace of it off your computer……if you have a short cut on your screen for msn 6.0 you just put it in your short cut into the Recycle Bin and it will ask you if you want to uninstall it this why you do not have to go into any stupid files or folders…….and you can get ride of every thing msn 6.0 put on your comp.
That doesn’t always work.
You can also ….
START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS > MSN 6.0
Not for me. thats only if you drag the icon from the start menu to the desktop. It’s better practice to copy it to the desktop, not drag.
Hmmm….i haven’t got any problems with MSN Messenger 6.0 (BETA), even it’s beta…
I have installed something that i shouldn’t have installed. I found that it was iMesh, but i though it was MSN Messenger 6.0 (BETA). I uinstalled it, and reinstalled it, WITH OUT PROBLEMS…

yeah, umm………i havae tried everything to uninstall it.. There is no uninstall file, i cant drag it b/c i dont have the short cut, i cant go to ADD?REMOVE programs b/c it only tries to install itself, i don’t know how to work well with DOS, i cant find every MSN file on my computer, and i have 3 versions scattered throughout the computer, msn 3.0, 5.0 and 6.0……..help please! maybe someone can help out with dos…….if not, i am formatting my hard drive in 10 days anyways…..i have SOME important things, but nothing i will miss too much……

well bboyidle, the problem is that ur OS is either not installed properly (generally happens, even with pros) or it is infected!!! As u said, that ADD/REMOVE program tries to install itself, it signifies the above fact only!!! nways if you are using WIN 98, then do this!! go to start -> run and type sfc in the window
scan for all the missing/corrupt files and then note them down
and again using sfc restore these files from the WIN 98 CD!!! I think this will help u restore your computer to a better state!!!
now for MSN, just go to
start -> settings -> control panel -> add/remove programs(which should be working if u have followed the above steps carefully) and select MSN x.y (as u said u have 3 versions, sounds weired) and uninstall it…
even following loser_kid method will be ok!!!also, if all this fails, then u will have to use regedit!!! do this start -> run and type regedit! A new window will open! that window shows your registry
now search by pressing Ctrl + f or simply F3! in the search box type MSN and wait!!! the search will show some results with MSN on the RHS of partitioned window. On LHS you will see many entries, but 1 entry will be shown open and its icon will be like an open folder icon!! delete that entry by right clicking it and selecting delete!!! search for all the entries of that type and delete them all!!! after that got to c:program files and delete all the MSN Messenger related folders!!! your MSN Messenger has been removed!!! njoy
