MemberHi,
When I open messenger I get the process to come up in task manager but I don’t see any thing. If I click open a few more times I get more process.
Tried uninstalling – rebooting the machine several times. However when I use “run as” another user it seems to be fine. I can get it messenger to come up. So I try and delete the local settings under “documents and settingsmyselfapplication datamicrosoft *anything msn related* Tried removing the sqm files in the root drive.
Yet still it doesn’t run. Usually when msn starts you get the messages in the event logs but I don’t get anything nor any error messages.
Tried doign system restore to an earlier date but the restore failed 🙁
There are times i get a huge list of errors in my event log :
Adding or removing a program may generate Event ID 7023
There is an hot fix for it, it seems like I get that error message when I install/remove msn. But msn still proceeds to delete all the files but I don’t know if it has delete the registry. I have just applied the hot fix but still doesn’t help.
Is there any hidden settings from msn messenger which I need to delete to get it to work?

MemberIt may be a good idea to completely uninstall messenger. Download a new copy of the installer then install 🙂

MemberDone all of that. But at the end I just removed my user profile and recreate a new one. It worked… Dunno what causes it, msn must have got corrupted.
