There is an unoffical rumor saying that the Y!Tunnel creator Chet Simpson is sick and may have cancer.
What makes me think that you say? Well there is some clues around the net.
Clue #1: Chet’s Absence
Mr. Chet all the sudden stopped updating his program in October 2004, only to make 1 news post in Feburary 2005 where a new release was comming in a couple days, but it didn’t come until May 15-16th 2005 where the surprise release of Build 360 shocked everyone. He then disappeared 20 days later after 6 releases on June 4th-5th-6th and he hasn’t post on the forums sense. The offical word is that he is “working hard on the new builds” while it really should not take months to fix a couple problems.
Clue #2: Enhanced Chat Room Chooser Picture
When Chet was showing off a preview of his new Enhanced Chat Room Chooser (On May 17th 2005) he posted a screetshot.

http://www.ytunnelpro.com/images/chooser.gifNotice the picture of Chet’s favorites, The Cancer Chat reference. Why would he have a Cancer Chat favorite on his list? The other favorites seem like places Chet has been seen at or would visit e.g; Hacker’s Lounge, Muscle Cars, Programming, Windows, ect. ect.
I believe that he didn’t notice he was posting a clue to why he is not around much anymore. Notice the Stop Smoking Support favorite. Does this have something to do with the cancer? maybe.Clue #3: The Hospital Announcement
On September 6th, 3 months since the last release, Donna the Y!Tunnel forum admin posted an update on Chet…

On September 9th Donna updated that post saying;

Time will tell if Chet will ever explain is disappearence, why he has been lacking in releases again. And if he can ever be trusted again.
