Try just double-clciking their name to open the chat window, but don’t say anything 😛Hmm…only worked for one of my users.
Trillian should update them whenever the person signs on…like on MSN Messenger.
Trillian does not work that way with MSN as suggested before you have to start a chat with your contact so his/her buddy icon update,anyway there is a plug in (if you are using trillian pro) created by a member at CS that will force trillian to update your MSN contacts buddy icons.
That’d most likely take away even more CPU usage from Trillian (Checking and comparing each MSN contacts buddy icon with the stored one and the new one). Considering it does the work of five or so messengers at once it wouldn’t exactly be the best idea anyway, it’s not really a hazard. I mean, does a buddy icon change someone’s personality? I can understand that you don’t really like having to IM them…but if you don’t talk to them, why are they on your buddy list and why do you need to know what their current buddy icon is? Doesn’t make much sense to me, just give em a “Hey, what’s up?” and you’re done. No biggie.

Umm, I just went through the entire Trillian Plugin List, and I didn’t see a plugin like that, Kudo, unless I skipped one.

Just read my post, really, it shouldn’t be that big of a problem :-/. However, you can suggest a plugin be made on the official Trillian forums, I think.
I was just going to suggest the same thing 😀 I don’t see what is the problem here,it is easy to do that if you want your contact icons update 😉

And that’s kinda the same reason why people put on a “Display Name”. Imagine you had to chat with a person, just to see their display name on Trillian…I think that would really be a hassle.
Anyways, I think there ought to be a plugin for updating buddy icons. *hint hint*

I have to disagree with you,but it does not,some people do it just for fun to play around with the IM feature or just to be annoying changing that all the time 😀 you don’t want to believe that this will show up somebody’s personality :rolleyes:
