ParticipantI decided to post this in the Yahoo Team Room instead of messaging Shifter, since we hardly post here. The Submit Your Favorite Yahoo Program Here thread is very unorganized, in my opinion, and old (since one or two links don’t work). I think it should resemble the FAQ and show a list of the downloads on first page instead of a person having to go page through page looking at each one by one to find what they want. Also a lot of the post in there are just questions or comments which doesn’t help much. Thought maybe it was time we update it somehow. What do you guys think?

ParticipantThat sounds like a great idea. I started that topic with good intentions, but I let it get carried away and never really took the time to get it back on track. If you can make a more organized and easy to use thread, that would be kick ass.

I’m reorganizing the entire thread, so new programs to add would help. Thanks for the any help in advance.

ParticipantThanks Miami! I’ll be sure to add both of them.
Anyone else know any programs?
January 28, 2006 at 7:00 am #137284Nessa
ParticipantThe way I’d like it set up would be like the FAQ. (Just the listing of the programs and who submitted them and when you click on the program it should take you to the appropriate post and that’s where the information should be about the program from the person who submitted it which i added so you can get an idea of what i mean.) The way shown here is just so you can check any errors and comment on anything.

We know how to fix this bug, and I will publish new release next month
NB: It’s impossible to fix this bug manually with registry changing (or another tip)**6. Yahoo! Chat Bot ~ Submitted by Ondoher – The Yahoo! Responder Bot is a yahoo chat bot, also sometimes known simply as a yahoo bot. Which is to say that it is a program that can log into yahoo chat rooms and respond to posts and instant messages. What’s it for? Damned if I know, but people seem to find a use. I kind of think of bots as pets you can teach to do tricks. Other people use them to greet people and to present frequently asked questions about the room. Whatever use you find, they can be great fun.
Features:This bot has many features, some of the more interesting are:
[*]Search/Response pairs specified using regular expressions;
[*]Search/Response pairs have an associated probability;
[*]Multi-post responses;
[*]Ability to respond to users entering the room;
[*]Response when bot enters a room;
[*]Ability to use text from the post in the response;
[*]Respond to private messages;
[*]Send responses to the chat room, or through private message;
[*]Advanced response features: typos, replacement groups, variables;
[*]Built in text editor for response file;
[*]Spam controls to put a leash on chatty bots;
[*]Mini client interface to monitor your bot’s interaction with the chat room, or to post messages on behalf of your bot;
[*]Room user list with ignore capability;
[*]Ability to set the font and color of your bot’s response posts;
[*]Extended font color effects: fade and alternate;
[*]Connection wizard to simplify connecting to the Yahoo! servers;
[*]Bot remembers settings on next run, so that you can press a single button to restart. 7. Yahoo! Display Image Grabber 1.0.0 ~ Submitted by MiamiGuy – Yahoo! Display Image Grabber is software that allows you extract Yahoo! Messenger avatars in just a second.8. Super Offline Yahoo Archive Decoder ~ Submitted by MiamiGuy – Lost Your Yahoo ID? No Problem, You can still read your chat history using our archive decoder. Read Yahoo chat conversations of everyone who uses or used your computer. No need for their password to read their conversations. Enable the Archiving option directly from this program.
9. HyperYM ~ Submitted by shifter – HyperYM is the most advanced status manager for Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk. It’s also the very first status changer for Google Talk (GTalk support appeared on August 25th 2005, less than 24 hours later since GTalk launch!)
This program allows you to set your status message to what you are currently listening in any of the seven players it supports (all in one, just 100kB download!). This means that HyperYM is an universal status changer, and a very small one, because it is written in pure C++. Other similar programs are specific to a single player and are outrageously huge (several MB each). Do you prefer to have seven tray icons or just one? Double that with the fact that you can set to have the same status applied to both YM and GT. And, don’t forget that HyperYM is in continuous development, more players will be added and more messengers will be supported! [HyperYM originally worked only with Yahoo! Messenger, but the word twist imposed its permanent name]10. Yahoo! Messenger 7 Polygamy (multi-yahoo) ~ Submitted by shifter – Allows you to use multiple instances of Yahoo! Messenger Clients.

Before i begin trying to organize it the way i wanted, i thought i should ask… Should i start a new thread or edit the old one?
January 28, 2006 at 11:21 pm #137280shifter
ParticipantI think a new thread would be best, just unstick the old one and add a post with a link to the new one, then lock it up for good.

KeymasterWow good job Vanessa. *Brings you a nice big meal after all that hard work you did*

ParticipantIt looks great Vanessa, thanks for doing that! You rock!
January 29, 2006 at 5:49 pm #137287Nessa
ParticipantThanks. Also if it’s not too much to ask, i’d like to ask help from other advisors and shifter that if you see a post that is just a comment in there (like “Thanks for the programs” and has no programs at all) to please delete it. I think it would be best to keep the thread with post of programs only. The help would be greatly appreciated.
