I just upgraded aim. When I log on to aim I get another window similar to Today window. How do I disable that?
you cant even if you click off on “Show AIM.com window at sign on”. I suggest using aim 5.5 Then go to the link in my signature so you dont get any popups when you put your mouse over the ads.

I have the same problem!:( When I sign into my AIM account, I get the darn “Welcome To AOL Instant Messenger 5.9” (or something like that) welcome screen and I can’t stand it. I’ve even clicked on the option, in the AIM program, to stop the welcoming message from popping up, but as HotShotScott had said, it doesn’t work.:mad: I’ve also tried clicking on the “Add Tools” option (under the AIM icons for either IMing, chatting, Info, Away, and Setup there’s a an arrow pointing down and the options: Play AIM Games, Add Tools, Send/Store Photos, and Go To Aim.com appear), but when I do, nothing happens and I’m stuck on why this is happening. If anyone knows the answer to this one, as well, please let me know because I really need to know why it’s not working. Thanks in advance.:)

So, I’m guessing that the above routine doesn’t work for AIM 5.9?:(:mad:
If so, that totally stinks and I hope that someone can find another way to get rid of the darn annoying pop-ups.well i have aim 5.9 and i unchecked “Show AIM.com windows at sign on” and aim.com never loads anymore
