MemberHelp please!
I’m using Windows XP. I uninstalled my YM from the Add/Remove Programs list however, I can’t seem to remove the Yahoo Messenger Explorer Bar from the list. I emptied the contents manually from the C: drive but it is still listed in my Add/Remove Programs. When I click the Change/Remove Button – nothing happens.
Please help! I really need to remove this from my programs list!

ParticipantThat’s why you shouldn’t physically delete program directories. Not only does it leave the program in your Add/Remove list, but it also doesn’t uninstall the application from your registry as well which can sometimes lead to other errors and problems with Windows. I would recommend that you re-install YM (which comes with the Messenger Bar) and then uninstall it properly through the Add/Remove List.

MemberHi shifter! Thanks for your message. Initially, I tried uninstalling the Yahoo Messenger Explorer Bar from the Add/Remove Programs list but everytime i clicked the change/remove button, it would just blink and nothing would happen. That’s when I tried to delete the yahoo folder from the windows explorer. But still nothing happened. I also tried installing and uninstalling YM one more time both the current version and the older version – still, nothing happened.
Hope you can provide me with more alternatives =)

MemberHello flying angel,
Try to download & install the Yahoo Toolbar/Yahoo Toolbar with Anti-spy by itself. Restart your computer. Then try to uninstall just the Yahoo Toolbar or the Yahoo Toolbar with Anti-spy. And when you install Yahoo Messenger, select custom install and make sure you do not select the Yahoo Toolbar to install again.
Hope this helps you, if I mis-understand you, please reply again =)
P.S: You can also manually remove the entries in the registry, but that is a little bit dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.
