Hi,
Is it possibel to use the OSI in a forum to show the status of every registered user in my forum?
I think the OSI is a great tool!! keep on the good work 😀
Its possible, but the user(s) or admin still has to set the account address.
the only line you need (html)
Still if the forum is written in php / asp you could make a (if its supported) info bar where people should fill in there msn address and that the code automatically gets generated.
Should do the trick.
And can this .jar file be run from a linux server?
I had it somewhat implemented in my PHPBB forum, but it didn’t work all too well.
I also wanted another online-status image
Is there a way to use an alt or title tag to say ‘user is online’ or ‘user is offline’ ?
Thanx for the info so far.
Yes, you can set up an Online Status Indicator host on Linux. In fact, a couple of the existing hosts run on Linux. You need to have Java 1.3 or later installed.
You can set up your own default images if you set up your own OSI host.
You cannot have an alt tag to say if the user is online or not. The reason for this is that you don’t know the status when you generate the HTML for the image.
Everything seems to be working now 😀
Thanx a lot for all your help
