How do I set it up to do that?
I think they might automatically log the conversations, but I’m not exactly sure either. Since that’s the only logging software they have listed here, I tried it, but it’s nowhere near worth it. It puts a search bar type thing in your taskbar and is just a pain. I was disappointed that they didn’t even bother to explain how it works either. And as much as I’m looking for something to log my conversations, it’s just not worth it. I wish they actually had a real program that logs AIM conversations.
heh, Google Desktop search may not be for everyone. (keep in mind that although the posts in the most useful programs thread were mostly authored by me, most of it was not *written* by me. merely compiled from other topics.) i myself dont use Google’s Desktop Search, so I can’t help you with how to use it… someone else here may be able to shed some light on that.
however, most of the addons listed in that topic also feature logging, like deadaim, aimutation, etc. you might want to give some of those a try as well.
I’ve tried Google Desktop, and I found that it’s not very easy to find the IM stuff. I think it’s mostly like you have to have them somewhere on your computer since Google Desktop just indexes stuff. So even though next to IM they have the little AIM man, I doubt unless you have an add-on, that you can log stuff.
