Before I upgraded to Yahoo Messenger Version 8.0 I was able to use the Smiley Central Smileys in my Yahoo IM’s with other people. It just loaded on the top bar each time I brought up my IM Window to send an IM . Since I have upgraded to Version 8.0 it does not come up anymore and I’d like to know how I can bring it back to the top of my IM Window and use it again. Anyone know how to do this ? Thanks for all your help . 🙂

For one i don’t recommend smileycentral as its spyware and adware.
Second the smiley central plugin may not be compatible with the newest 8.0
Go to the site you got smiley central from and see if they have a newer version out.
Yea, I agree with Dermot here. I’ve always wondered if somebody could make a “lite” version without all the spyware/adware…
I certainly don’t WANT or NEED either of those … LOL . Everything was fine with it when I used it before . Didn’t know it was a Spyware/Adware . Still learning things here .. 🙂 . Would it be the same with the IncrediMail ? Of course I don’t know if you can use them in the Yahoo or any other IM’s but would they be just as bad or worse than the Smiley Central Smileys ? Thank You for all your information and help on this . Is there another Program like this with Smileys that I could use ?

Thank you “kingofchaos6669” also, and I certainly agree, we need a bright mind to fix this thing so people can enjoy it like it is suppose to be . I’ve had alot of fun with it in the past, but after seeing Dermot’s and your Posts I am having second thoughts about keeping it and using it . I can use it fine in Emails just not in the new Yahoo Version 8.0 . But I don’t want all the Problems that you both are suggesting with this so will probably just Uninstall this off . Thank you again .

Mainly, it adds unneeded toolbars to Internet Explorer and shows ads.
P.S. Uninstalling it won’t probably remove everything. I suggest using Spybot – Search & Destory to find any possible “leftovers”. 😉
If you downloaded Smiley Central prior to 5/12/04, you will need to get latest version of Smiley Central in order for smileys to be compatible with your Yahoo! IM Beta software http://smiley.smileycentral.com/download/upgrade.jhtml?ref=http%3A//emoticons.smileycentral.com/help/yim.html
it is working with yahoo messenger 8..try it.You have to remember nothing comes for free, smileycentral is full of spyware and if you read the terms of agrement you would notice the disclamer..if you don’t mind popups and junk email use it, otherwise find the combanation of letters used to make the smiles and copy the smilies out of the folder and delete smiley central and repaste the smiles back to the directory
