Home › Forums › Archives › Computer Support › Web Cams › Video and Audio very jerky – help please ?
Hi,
I’m hoping someone can help me. I just d/l the most recent version of messenger so I could webcam with my brother in Canada.
I have Windows Me, Pentium 4, Gateway comp., with a Jazz Digi-Stix webcam.
The video is very jerky and so is the audio, at least on my end, his voice kept cutting out badly, he said my audio was coming through good on his side.
I noticed also that I could not do anything with the webcam settings, they were blanked out so I couldn’t do anything at all.
Can anyone please help me ?
What Instant Messenger program were you using, and what internet connection do YOU have?
I am so sorry to forget that. I have DSL and I’m using MSN Messenger. Hope you can help.
Tks
I think for all programs the video will be jerky, occasionally on Netmeeting and MSN, the video becomes smooth.
But when the audio got jerky when I was using it, I changed to AIM to handle the audio during conversations. AIM supports a continuous audio feed, so it doesnt cut the audio when no one’s talking. This only solved my problems with jerky audio, but I think it is more important than the video.
Thank you very much for your reply lazyturbo
Bourbs 🙂
Netmeeting should be good. But if the stuff was coming out well on his side, it might be you’re computer.
