Hi
I have just bought a microsoft lifecam 3000 with an intergrated microphone, but am having problems with feedback during video calls. I can hear the other side clearly but they just get loud feedback which ends up looping round to my computer…does this mean the problem is with the other person too???
My laptop already has a microphone and I have tried using both the life cam and the realtech as default but the feedback is still the same. I have also tried blocking the laptop microphone. I did notice that when trying to set up the Lifecam microphone it appeared that it was picking up a lot of noise before I even spoke?? Can anyone help please?? would buying a headset microphone solve the problem ?
I am not very technical so simple advice much appreciated !!
Thanks
Karen
Karen, if they are getting feedback on their end, it means their mic is picking up the sound coming out of their speakers. Simply put, the problem is not on your end.
A simple test would be for them to temporarily mute their mic. That should resolve the feedback problem. If it does, then they need to experiment with the position of the mic relative to their speakers, and perhaps adjusting the gain (it looks like “volume” control for the mic under advanced sound properties, recording).
ask them to use headphone, usually the best way to use video conf..
