I wasn’t sure whether to post this here or in the computer support forum. It’s a video where a guy walks around New York City asking random people pretty basic tech questions like “What is a browser?” Only 8% knew!
It goes to show you how much the more tech savvy among us take for granted. Keep this in mind next time your friends or family ask for help with their computer.
Very cool… and very scary. Although part of this might be a lingo problem. They might have asked “What program do you use to access the Internet?” and gotten better answers.
It also shows how little the average person cares about what browser they use. This explains why so many people still use IE6, even though it makes developers want to pull their hair out. They simply don’t care enough to upgrade or switch.
