Can anyone help me pls?
I got a problem trying to view yahoo cams!
When i ask for permission and i’m allowed to view, i see on the left lower corner : “Receiving Images” but nothing appears!
I use xp home edition with service pack 1 and Zone Alarm as a firewall.
I allowed yahoo access to internet even as a server.
Thanks in advance to everyone could help me!
When you’re troubleshooting a problem such as this, the first thing you want to do is to eliminate as many variables as possible. In your case, I would first try temporarily disabling ZoneAlarm and see if viewing webcams will work then. If it does, then you know the problem lies somewhere in your ZoneAlarm configuration.
One other common problem may be the version of Yahoo you’re using. When Yahoo introduced Super Webcam mode in version 5.5, they also began using a different form of compression, even for regular webcam mode. If someone is running 5.5 and sharing their webcam, you won’t be able to view it unless you are also running 5.5 (or newer). The good news is that if you are running 5.5, you’ll still be able to view webcams shared by older versions. Clear?
So what version of Yahoo! Messenger are you running?
