MemberSince I see so many people asking about viruses here I thought I would put this up
The first thing that you need to do is get a good anit virus program
Nortan is good if you are ready to pay. But for people out there who
would not like to invest in a anti-virus there are equally good free
one, personally I would suggest AVG. Go to
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php
to get AVG.
Then you will need a good fire wall. Microsoft windows has a fire wall but it is not a very good one.
http://www.zonealarm.com go there and get zone alarm it is pretty good.
Down load Ad-Aware, Spybot search and destroy run them atleast once a week if you surf regularly. As a general rule do not down load files
from sites you do not trust. Try to down load software from the
official site.
Get Hijackthis and sign up at forums.techguy.org. Run hijack this and
post the log on the site and follow the instructions that you get.
These instruction will be in-depth. After doing this you can be sure
that your computer is 99.99% clean. I would suggest running spybot
ad-aware and hijackthis once in a week
Regarding Yahoo
People can get your ip, if you dont want to give people your ip then
dont use super web cam and do not send instant messages to people who you think might get your ip. But then you can not do much with an ip address alone. I doubt there are many hackers on yahoo, so I would not worry too much if I were you. You do not have to worry much if you are using dial up since it gives you a dynamic ip meaning that it changes
every time you disconnect and reconnect. Do not accept file transfers from people you do not know there is a possibility that they are sending you a virus/trojan. Especially if it has a extension that you do not know.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.I hope this helps

Memberbrunette: Download Adware (do a Google Search for “Lavasoft Adware”) to remove the spywares. Or download webroot spysweeper. It also removes lots of unnecessary stuff which anti-viruses usually dont detect.
