Camry, I’m sorry noone’s picked up your question till now (and I guess thank Himing for smartly bumping it up to top of list again 😉 ).Not sure, but I’d suggest either of the following:
-A- Ensure you’ve got no other programs open that use any audio (e.g. RealPlayer, WinAmp, etc), or …
-B- Go to Actions, Call Setup, and see if you can choose anything else in the dropdown list there.I hope one of these may fix the problem… but I’m not confident. 🙁

This errors seems to be with people using RealTek High Defenition Sound 6 to 8 channel I have the same Problem I have checked every thing there is and Have not found a fix as of Yet! every thing to even trying diffrent updated drivers. I dont think Yahoo Voice servers reconsie it but I am trying it on another Machine here at the same time with the same type of sound on Both a MSI board and a Gigabyte board Pro series.. 🙁
The usual Yahoo Story not updating things that matter just Junk!

August 11, 2006 at 6:04 pm #139604DermotParticipantYou can test your Hardware like so,
Go to Start then Run
type in dxdiag and press enter/return
DirectX diagnostic tool should appear
go to Network tab
Press DirectPlay Voice Options
Press RunWizard to start Your soundcard tests for Voice
If all pass then your Mic locally is fine.
Check Here! to make sure your Voice components are up to date.
If you only have a Half Duplex soundcard read about Yahoo’s issue here
You can download Yahoo!’s own Yahoo! Voice audio setup wizard here
With all these you should be able to find out what your initial voice issue is.

August 11, 2006 at 6:42 pm #139606Eagle_KiwiMemberGreat post, Dermot. 🙂
I find the current “Call Setup Assistant” is very weak compared with that older one – “Audio Setup Wizard” (YacsWiz) is a great tool to have, and can run quite independently of YM too, which is nice.
