OK, Originally I thought my ‘puter was posessed, little elves n fairies lived in it and did all the calculations n sorted the letters into words.
That didnt explain the power cord, so I asked an expert. “Dad, what makes my ‘puter run?”
‘Blue smoke’ was the answer, “Why is it plugged into the wall?” “Thats to run the little colored lights and the fan to keep the smoke cool”.
He was proved correct when a few years later the blue smelly smoke escaped from the ‘puter n it stopped working for good.
My Dad knows everything.Recently, being disgusted at the thought of holding something all day that had balls, I decided to install an optical mouse, A cute lil critter that had red LED’s, one at back that stayed on continuously n one underneath that came on when you moved the mouse.
Everything was sweet until a CD burning session created 4 coasters in a row. Not one to stay calm at any time, I glared at the recently installed red glowing mouse n flicked it from my sight. No reaction from the cursor, it’s surely cursed, the mouse must go.
My Dad had not seen the cursed beast so it was unfair to ask him ’bout it.
So, out came ‘old one ball’, well worn mouse though it was, the CD burns continued without hassle. I’m calm again n holding my mouse firmly. The cursed optical mouse? in a box with many cables n old graphic cards, old HD’s n assorted stuff. Will I have it exorcised? prolly not Voodoo is pretty strong stuff.
My guess? it didnt run on blue smoke, or its seriously cursed. I’ll ask my Dad.Lessons?
1. Blue smoke is very reliable and should not be replaced as a medium in computers or peripherals.
2. If it glows red…… beware.
3. If it has balls (even just one), maybe, just maybe it can be trusted, dont let it out of yr sight though.
While yr holding it its prolly safe to trust it.rustedtight
