A recent news report states that the FBI is working with Odigo to determine the source of some instant messages sent warning of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center a full two hours before the first airplane impacted.
Obviously SOMEONE knew about the attack beforehand (the terrorists). Could someone else have known, and warned friends? How did they know, and why didn’t more know?

This is an interesting story, and I hope we hear more about it.

NO, not in this case.
The news report clearly states: “The message was a nonspecific threat that didn’t mention the World Trade Center, Diamandis said. “It was the timing that made it unusual.”
So, nobody was warned about WTC, it was just another threat, “nonspecific” and all.
It does make a good read though, if you gloss over the facts.October 1, 2001 at 10:50 pm #103102Jeff HesterKeymasterQuote:quote: NO, not in this case.I’m not sure I agree. All the article really says is that it didn’t specifically mention the WTC. Obviously there’s something suspicious about it or the FBI wouldn’t be investigating.
I’m curious to know what WAS said.
October 19, 2001 at 4:32 pm #103107CherryKissMemberI agree with Jeff on all his points. I not only received messages from my friends on Odigo but on ICQ as well. AND not only from Israel but India too. Needless to say I contacted the FBI straight away and they took my call VERY seriously. I know that they followed up on all the information I gave them as my friends said that they were contacted by the very same individual that I spoke with. On Odigo I received forboding messages at least 3 months in advance as to how the people back east felt about Americans – BUT that is not what surprises me, What does is that our ARMED forces are now saying that the American public didn’t grant them the funding needed to take care of a matter like this should it happen. That they KNEW it would happen just not WHEN it would take place. They say they knew we were at risk but its OUR own fault for not making sure they were prepared to handle the consequences. Well now……Last I heard WE THE PEOPLE (civilians) were handling the situation quite well. Last I heard – We had enough bombs that we were actually running out of places to destroy without killing civilians. I would say that the AMERICAN public is doing splendid. Just what the hell are the Armed forces talking about anyways? I say they should stop whining especially since they claim they knew BEFOREHAND that some tragedy would befall us and take care of business, everyone else appears to be.
