shygirl
MemberI recently discovered some webcam still shots of some folks I had been chatting with in my program file. I have no idea how they got there. To my knowledge, I didn’t do anything to take these snapshots. Does anyone have a clue how this could have happened?

KeymasterWhat chat program were you using? Where exactly on your hard drive did you find the snapshots?
They could be cached, or (depending on which program you were using) they could have been transferred to you.

MemberI was using Yahoo and I found the photos in my program file under Yahoo messenger. They were jpgs and all named as the IDs of the people I was talking to. They were also all taken in the same month. I’m pretty sure they weren’t sent to me. Could this be from some kind of spyware or something?

MemberShygirl??? whats a nice shy girl doing messing with webcams?
Quote:quote: Could this be from some kind of spyware or something?NO babe, not spyware. They were sent to you, You just dont yet have the experience to know that………………..
Understand first just where it is that you are exposing yourself. I’m damned if I would it do on web-cams……….
But hey……….. flash me your best shot.rustedtight

MemberI never said I was exposing myself. You just have a dirty mind
… shame on you.
Anyway, I have my messenger set up to ask my permission before accepting a download and it never did that.
Any other ideas?

MemberQuote:quote: I never said I was exposing myself. You just have a dirty mind … shame on you.I am sorry,
you have misinterpreted my use of the word ‘exposing’.
simply by using some software and applications, though they are not even cams, you expose your location, ISP name, current IP address, n possibly your email address, your s*x, and often your age. Exposure doesn’t always mean riping your clothes off.Quote:quote: But hey……….. flash me your best shot.Possibly that ‘throwaway line’ was in bad taste.
Back to subject…………. If there is only one pic per unique ID. its quite possible its a feature of the software you are using.
Just as we have avatars here.rustedtight.

MemberI was looking thru my c: drive in the yahoo folder and I found snapshots of people who’s cams I was looking at. Now, assuming that you were using Yahoo, this is an automatic process that cannot be turned off. Just go to the folder and delete them after you are done looking at that certain persons’ cam. I hope I could help

MemberThanks Spazzy. I was beginning to think I was the only one this was happening to. I knew the pics weren’t sent to me because some of them were taken when the people weren’t even sitting at their desks!

MemberShygirl, is it Yahoo that you are using? Because if it is, you should donwload the latest version and see if it does the same thing that ur current version is doing.
