MemberThere is a thing in preferences in messenger. It is under webcam, it let’s you click something if you don’t have a lot of light in the area. It works pretty well and makes quite a difference.

MemberYes but some Cams need front lighting, alot of people I know set a table lamp on thier desk. Just behind the Cam so it shines on thier face.

MemberOK when you have your Cam on click File (on the box where you see your picture) then click Preferences. Another box will open up, move that box over so you can see your Cam box. Then click Camera Setting, another box will open, move that box so you can see your Cam box. Mess with the settings until your picture looks how you want it. Good Luck!

Memberyeah i know wat i should be able to do but those buttons i see but i cant move them

KeymasterIf you can’t move them, then they cannot be controlled from within Yahoo! Messenger. I have the same exact problem with my Logitech QuickCam.
Instead, I have to close the webcam in Yahoo, then run the software that came with my webcam. From there, I can configure the “advanced settings” and they’re all available instead of grayed out. Once I get the settings so it looks ok, I close that and relaunch the Yahoo! Messenger webcam an it retains those new settings.
The only other thing I can think of that could cause all the controls to be grayed out is if there’s a “default settings” checkbox and it’s selected. Usually such a setting “disables” all of the manual controls, so make sure it’s not checked.

MemberHe’s right. I’m having the same problem. There is no way to change brightness with the Fuji FinePix 2650, even with the software that came with it. The software that came with it uses embedded NetMeeting, and all the options are grayed out except “Roll”. Does anyone know how to change brightness for this camera? Yes, the lights are on, and I haven’t had this problem with my friend’s web cam.
