recently installed an ati 8500dv video card. I was trying to use my digital video camera as a webcam through the the firewire port. at first it broadcasted the tv station that the cards tv tuner was set on over yahoo messenger. I switched to input to composite, now it just locks up yahoo messenger. anyone have any experience using this video card for a webcam?
thanks, Rob
Hey, I’m having the same problem with my ATI Radeon 8500dv. In the composite input mode, it locks up yahoo! messenger. It also locks up ActiveWebCam. Anybody got any ideas out there?
I don’t have that board, but if someone wants to send me one, I’ll test it! 😀
As an alternative for your digital camera (since you mentioned you have firewire ports) you might try WebCamDV. It works with any board and lets you use your DV Cam and firewire port as an input to most webcam applications (including Yahoo Messenger).
