I’m limited to five viewers when using Yahoo Messenger. I have a Creative Webcam Pro and I’m using the latest versions of messenger and Windows XP with SP2. I tried reinstalling messenger and my webcam driver but no change. Viewers also have to open a IM window to view..in the chatroom the they just get a “webcam not available” message. Any ideas how th fix this? Thanks in advance.
It might be a possible flaw in the messenger program itself, and is unable to be corrected by any tweak or hack provided here.
Here is Yahoo!’s help section regarding webcams,

Good luck.
I know this might seem strange, but I had a friend of mine with the same problem and we unwittingly fixed it.
In an effort to help with boots and PM’s, I had her download the free basic version of Y!tunnelpro…… as soon as that was installled, somehow she was able to go from 5 to 30 viewers. I’m not sure why.. but it worked… she was so elated that this fix came about unexpectedly.
Try it and let me know if it works for you also (get it at http://www.ytunnelpro.com).
**Also**.. This only adresses the 5 limit problem, not the other issue you mentioned….
