MemberHello, just a coupla queries…is it possible to somehow have your webcam set so that if you have it on, it wont show up in the room as being on? I have it set in the pref’s so that only certain people can veiw, but some people get ****ty and keep asking me if they can see it, then I start getting booted..so is there?. Also where does it say where you can set it for how many people can veiw? Cant seem to find that one! lol…Thankyou for any help..much appreciated. And..I’m running YTunnel basic but I still seem to get booted, although I have copie and pasted the recommendation that I found in one subject matter with regard to the Filter1.txt , so hopefully that will work, as Im not to sure what I should have the settings set on the anti boot filtering section, with regards to the sliders. But only time will tell..Regards….Mel.

The limit is 40, there are no settings to change this to my knowledge.

Well the chief principal behind Y! Tunnel is to stop users from being booted.
Unfortunately, it doesnt accomplish that goal.
IF you are using y! tunnel to help with protection against booters, you are only wasting your time.
I personally use Y! Tunnel just for the spam filtering.
Lucky for Chet he put that in, or the program would be 100% useless.
Right now its only 50% useless.January 11, 2005 at 10:59 pm #111216CrazyAngel
MemberActually, always ask for permission will still show that tv thing by your name when you’re in chat rooms. I’ve been told to do this by a couple of people so I’m not sure if this is just me that gets stuck with the TV, or if it’s some urban legend surrounding Yahoo.
One way that I found to get around this is to sign into Yahoo Chat with a new name. If you are looking at Yahoo Messenger go to “Messenger” and then click on “My Profiles” and create something and set it to active. Next you can click on that chat button and where it says “Enter chat room as:” scoll down and select your new profile. When you join a room it will ask you if you want to use your webcam on the profile you will be using in chat… just say no.
What I have recently choosen to do is use Yahoo Messenger for my real Yahoo ID and use YahElite (http://www.yahelite.org) for the one I use in chats. YahElite was difficult for me to learn but it has a lot of features and has strong boot resistance. I think the only reason I still use Yahoo Messenger is because I like that it has a larger webcam box and the animated similes *huggle*. 😛
As for the number of users that can view, I always got stuck at 30 before people started requesting reset, booting, etc.
