Im building a website at the moment based on fileshare, however im not sure about the laws in united kingdom. Am i allowed to give direct download links for another website (no files are not stored on my server) or is that aginst the law.
For example: Can i give out rapidshare links, or megaupload links? or is that against the law?
also can i put serial numbers onto the website, things like registration keys for softwares? I looked on the net to find info about this but didt get nowhere

Why would you bother? Even if you’re not breaking the law, you run the high risk of getting in trouble anyway. You’d be doing something that is clearly facilitating illegal acts, you’ll get nailed for something eventually. Even in the case of not breaking the law–but simply linking, they got in trouble.
Linking to other websites shouldn’t be an issue (ala Google as an example, even though it’s not exactly the same situation) but hosting serial keys and passwords is against international laws in any country.
Good link and good info about the serial key hosting. thanks guys.
