Some People i know have these Ascii character map thing in there nickname thats really cool. But when i try to put it in mine and it says the characters are not allowed…why is it working for them and not me:confused:
Frosty what Khizz is saying is that Yahoo used to allow it but now does not. The people who had them there before Yahoo changed what they allowed can still have it but anyone try’n now cant. In addition if the people who have it change it and try to go back to it they cant. I have =^,,^= in one of my nicnames thank god I did it back then.
This is another of Yahoo’s pathetic attempts at stopping bootcodes etc… which again all goes back to their choice of chat output, IE controls.
Instead of just blocked the codes which may crash it, they block them all.
People want things like symbols in their names (ascii covers the whole range, from numbers and control characters to tabs, spaces, eol etc…) but Yahoo! don’t appear to be doing things what the user wants these days, they are spending all their working hours blocking codes; Which makes the client and server slow!
Even though Yahoo attemps to block illegals and codes. There is a way to get around it.
The way i know is to make a account on http://www.kr.yahoo.com . You might not be able to read Korean http://www.babblefish.com is a translating site and click on “Translate Language Convert Money” that should help you along the way of viewin the foreign language.
When you get to the profile part you can edit it and put ANY of the ascii characters into your nickname EXCEPT the alphabet letters with the lines above them.
