Subject: FW: Max Lucado on President Bush
Max Lucado on President Bush
Max Lucado is a Christian author who is very popular for his many
wonderful books about the Lord. This week, Max was invited (along with
several other famous preachers) to have lunch at the White House with
President Bush. Their meeting took place on Thursday and Max shared with
us this morning how it had gone. As the ministers sat down to lunch and
waited for President Bush to appear, Max said that he was expecting G.W.
to walk in the room looking tired, serious, and depressed. When the
President came in, Max said he looked totally opposite of tired: he was
energetic, joyful, and very focused on his talk with the ministers.Max asked President Bush how he could seem so calm and peaceful in the
midst of all the tragedy. The President’s reply was, “I’m feeling
stronger now than I’ve! ever been in my life. And the reason is because
every person in America is praying for me. When I stay on my knees,
that’s when I have power.” The ministers then asked the President how
he would like them to pray for him, and how their congregations back home
should be praying. Mr. Bush asked, first, for clarity of mind so that
he could make wise decisions, and then he asked that we pray specifically
for his wife and two daughters, as he is very concerned about their
safety.I knew that you would be as encouraged as I was to hear about this
meeting. We must thank God that we have a President who loves and fears
the Lord. No human leader is perfect, but God is perfect, so let’s keep
President Bush lifted up in prayer before the FatherMarch 30, 2003 at 4:24 am #97346rustedtightMemberI am confused.
The muslims fight with God on their side also.
Tho thru the teachings of an enlightened prophet of the same God.
Who then is closer to God? the followers of the earlier prophet or the followers of the latter?
While I trust in God, (Inshallah) I wonder with which camp he sits.
I pray that divine guidance can be in opposite directions, lest one of us is dammned forever.March 31, 2003 at 6:57 pm #97348shearheavenMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by rustedtightI am confused.

I pray that divine guidance can be in opposite directions, lest one of us is dammned forever. The letter posted was in no way putting down other faiths. Just simply a letter of a conversation between President Bush and Pastors at a lunch. The letter touched my heart knowing a man of his power gets on his knees and prays for wisdom and guidance. And asks for the Amercian people to please do the same.
I do however in my personal opinion question Saddoms “God”, not the Iraqi peoples. I believe he has lost something in the tranlation. The God I know does not instruct to murder, mame, torture men, women and childern. He continues to do evil to his own people also dispicable acts of assinations of whoever stands in his way.
My prayer is that every person will have the freedom to express there own beliefs without any of these atrocities being affilted upon them.I do pray for all the troops in Iraq who are fighting to help rid this evil man whom darkens his own people with the shadow of death. And help the people of Iraq to know what it is like to have that often taking for granted freedom most of us enjoy and cherish so deeply.

I have been so depressed about the war, and all the hatred directed toward the United States. I share in your same thoughts on Saddam, and his God. I hate war, even when necessary, but what hurts me most, is the hatred, directed at us.

I cant accept calling upon divine help then walking out the door to kill another person, regardless of being Christian or Muslim.

If thats a statement, you posed then……. where do you want it to go? whats your point? wasted post?
If thats a question, then the question mark (?) was missing, spelling mistakes notwithstanding, to whom is yr question directed? Christians? Muslims? the original poster? me?
A forum is kinda like intercourse, verbal intercourse, each individual has something to give, something to add and this something, to be given or offered to a participant of said intercourse, its important when …… as a third party, a participant of a threesome no less….(and with luck, additional participants) direct your contribution to the intercourse to a particular participant, this would then help in determining just who should reply.
If on the otherhand you simply forward your nonsensical contribution to the intercourse,.. then dont be insulted if its ignored and not replied to.
Please.. in future when jumping into the deep end check the depth.Ofcourse, if your not passionate about the participants of or about this intercourse and your interest is casual……. then there is a word for what you are……… I wont say it here.

Most murders and genocide and mass killings is done in the name of God.
Accept that you also are a potential murderer and killer. -
