Eep.. I am never going to upgrade AIM again.. I downloaded the new 5.5 and everything was working fine, until I decided I didn’t want it anymore, because I hated that you couldn’t use addons and the look was messed up and the ads made my headspin and just BLAH. So, I uninstalled it. Then, my computer froze. I restarted. Computer frozen. Safe mode time, baby. Uninstalled AIM in safe mode. Restarted. Computer frozen. I tried this several times until I just gave up. I luckily had a good restore point from a couple days ago, so I just restored back then and downloaded 5.2.3292 again. Praise the lord for http://www.oldversion.com .. Anyway, I recommend that you don’t get the new AIM, althuogh it might be my computer, cause it seems like for most people here that have gotten it and worked fine. Anyway.. eep!
Wow, thats really bad. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else. For now, I have no plans of upgrading from 5.2 anyway. The beta has way to much ads and useless stuff.
i agree completely… screw aim. right now i’ve got 3292, and until the day comes when they tell me its obsolete and my choice is to either upgrade or forget about aim… well then buh bye to AIM it is… none of this extra crap that no one needs.
if by some freak chance i lose my mind for a day and decide to upgrade, i’ll just ResHack it to pieces and get rid of all the trash that i didnt want anyway
it may have been freezing if aim happened to leave the start up keys in the registry. although it probably wouldnt freeze but just tell you that the file was not found. i duno its a possibility though.
