in honor of back to school (although some may have dreaded it for the past month), I just thought it would be fun for everyone to list their school colors and mascot.
my high school colors were red, white, and blue, and we were the olympians
my college colors are maroon and gold and our mascot is a huskyOctober 3, 2004 at 4:17 am #37300colinMemberour school has already been in for 6 weeks, but our school colors are green and black, and we are the timberwolves.

October 3, 2004 at 6:10 am #37296RabidKittenParticipantYeah, my city has 4 high schools. Allow me to explain.
Century Panthers, Navy and SilverThe Rich kids school. Rochester is a medcal city, with the Mayo Clinic and such in it, but these doctors all live in this district. And these said doctors are so powerful around here that they had the district move the boundries when we had a big boom of somalian peoples and they had a 10% minority count in their school….ohhhh no, not around their precious spawn. So they moved the boundries so that John Marshall got all the minority peoples. Not that it’s a bad thing to have “minorities” (I say it figuratively because it’s a 75% “minority” making them not so much a minority), but it’s wrong to move the boundries because you have cash. Oh well…
Mayo High School Spartans, Gold and GreenMayo is the second oldest high school. And the school is in the shape of a circle. No…not a circle, a donut. Yes, it’s a big tuna can, they don’t have a corner to pee in, no sense of direction so they built it in a circle, you could walk for days and days…there are a lot of jokes. But JM and Mayo have a rivalry. Good natured ever since Mayo was built since it’s on the south side of town and JM’s on the north. See, as my best friend (Who went to mayo) says: “JM and Mayo are rivals…we just hate Century”.
Lourdes Eagles, Purple and YellowThe Christian school. They act the victim and continuously harass the public schools during holidays and practices. I think they’re jealous because nobody really conciders them a real school. Enough said.
Yet I was not in any of these three…I was a proud
John Marshall Rockets, Red and BlackYeah…we’re the oldest school. We’re also the smallest, poorest, more diverse and the only school where the minorities aren’t really the minority. I guess the city is afraid that it’s going to become an “Inner City School”, but whatever…Rochester will never have a “Ghetto” or an “Inner city” Anything. I mean, we were voted the best place to live in america 6 years in a row. We’re pathetically clean and rich…most of us, heh. Since we’re not around any big cities, they say that if you live in Rochester, it’s like you live in your own world…and it’s quite true *nod nod* But yes, JM is chalk full of sick school spirit, very obnoxious pride and all of that goody goody crap. *shrug* Eh whatever…I graduated, what do I care. Oh…and college…the Yellowjackets. I think it should have been the moquittos, but I guess the Skeeters is our…basketball or some crap. Oh, right…yellow and blue…black…something
October 3, 2004 at 7:29 am #37310gossipingraeMemberrabidkitten, I thoguht the mayo clinic was in minnesota… do you know if they have branches? I mean, they must, since it’s such a huge name. only b/c when my mom had surgery on her foot, the doctors removed a tumor and had it sent to the mayo clinic to test for cancer and I thought she said it was sent to minnesota…i dunno, maybe you do
October 3, 2004 at 8:06 am #37299AwesomeSauceParticipantHeh. We are da Chargers:
Click on one of the graphics to visit siteActually, I think their REAL logo is a picture of a knight on a horse with one of those really long, skinny swords that look kind of like toothpicks(what are they called?); but I can’t find a picture like that anywhere.
Colors? …. mm, I’ll have to check into that. Ah, I’ll get my student-handbook right now and see if it says there…. nothing. But yeah, there’s a picture of a knight riding a horse, and the motto for the year is “Chargers charged with power”. 😮
