Every directory,every file.

ParticipantMost likely you are using SpyBot Search and Destroy since this program does show the stuff it’s looking for while scanning. These are not things that are found in your computer persay but rather what elements of spyware the program is trying to scan for. Usually when a program such as Ad-aware or Spybot scans your computer it scans the following…
Memory
Registry
Files in Program Files, Windows, System and other important files
Other filesSo what do I use for spyware?
Ad-aware

Spybot SSD

Spyware Blaster

Spyware Guard

MemberWell as dee said, the spyware removal softwares scan each and every drive and files… but some spy removers have the option for scanning particular drives and directories…
I use Spy Sweeper avlbl att http://www.webroot.com… It gives you the option of scanning particular drive(s)…
I also had these dialers downloaded automatically from some site and on running the software it found it at many locations… I deleted them using the software and none have appeared again…:)August 16, 2003 at 9:13 am #57187Wakina
MemberI’m using Ad-Aware 6 and Spyware Blaster, but it seems I have to scan for spyware every few days because I still get ad pop-ups all the time, even when I’m not browsing the internet. Anyone know why this could be happening?

BTW anyone with a computer connected to the Internet will find stuff with those two programs. Everyone should run them. (I run mine twice a week)
They only look in c:HiddenSpyware 😉

Thankyou David, why I recommend spybot is because it picks up ALL that Adaware catches and more….. test it and see for yourself.
Theres no place for Adaware on any of my ‘puters now.
Tho that is a personal choice, you may see it another way. -
