ParticipantEh, well I know that Oreo is all about The Gimp lately, I haven’t used it but I did check it out and it looks alright. Eh, Other than that I don’t know of free programs, but there’s always the usual, paint shop pro, photoshop. There’s a demo for PSP 8 on Downloads.com and you can get Gimp there as well. Spike claims that fireworks is nice but I find it lacking a bit. Photoshop Elements is a bit testy but it works. Corel Paint…there’s really a multitude of programs.

MemberPhotoplus 5.5 is pretty good, and free. It’s just like a beefed up MSPaint, or a toned down Photoshop.

Macromedia Fireworks
Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9
Adobe Photoshop CSYeah, they’re all new versions, but I’m sure their sites have older version pages, as well.

A great way to get familiar with new software is by completing a tutorial. I’m sure you can find a multitude of these for Fireworks by searching Google. 😉January 12, 2005 at 11:01 pm #111765colin
MemberWell first of all, don’t go around saying “I want to make this but I don’t know how”. If you really want to learn, then learn and stop talking about it. If you use Photoshop CS (which I highly recommend) then go to http://www.good-tutorials.com for awesome tutorials. As for looking for Fireworks tutorials, just Google it.

MemberDJ, nah, I’m more of a Bryce 5 person, myself. 😉 But still, that looks like a totally awesome program.
EDIT: It’s FREE?!?! I am SO downloading me a copy of that. I’ll post about it in a bit! 🙂

MemberMmmkay, tried it for a bit (I learn fast) and it seems like a decent program. Here is my very first creation:

Things Edited: Sun Placemment, Cloud Dispersion, Flat Land (underwater now, heh), Second Land Mass, Water Plane.
Total Polygons: 187,220.I apologize for the BMP, though it was for quality. If I post any in the future, I’ll use JPG.

Participant*gasp* Spike, I don’t think it would be a good idea to insert a .bmp into your post. It would be better to just link to it.
Anyway, here’s mine… HUZZAH

Really sweet program.
