Hey all,
Im new here. I am just here because im intrigued with AIM. So many college kids my age use it, and so many other students and adults throughout america use it, that it seems if something is new, if something is innovative it should catch on like wildfire…
But after all these AIM sites and files and subprofiles, do you think there is still some stuff out there that nobodys even THOUGHT OF?

Yes. People are coming out with new features for I.M programs all the time. I dont think anyones to have a original idea for a messenger anytime soon but the main thing that is updated is features for the messengers that are currently around.
There are ideas that haven’t yet become mainstream, but will be coming very soon…
Instant messaging protocols are now available on many cell phone networks. Other devices will also be able to login and send and/or receive messages via these protocols.
Instant messengers can be used to communicate with applications directly. For example, you can submit new blog entries via an instant message, or send a request for stock information to the Wall Street Journal bot. Because instant messaging implies presence… because it follows you to your current location (work, home, mobile, etc.)… it allows a higher level of connectivity.
Imagine being able to send IMs to other devices. As I leave work, I could send an IM to instruct my house to prepare for my arrival, adjusting the temperature, lighting, music or whatever.
Or imagine devices being able to IM other devices…
