Member…”yahoo 360 friend” and “in friend’s yahoo 360 network”?
On my 360 page, I have a “blue man symbol” at the bottom of my buddy list that says “yahoo 360 friend”, and a “yellow man symbol” that says “in friend’s yahoo 360 network”.
Can someone clarify this please?? Thanks!!

You —>Buddy (blue man symbol)
=it is directly under your network (or it is your friend
just like in the friendster)The “yellow man symbol” is someone who is a part of the network of your buddy  .
You—>Buddy–> your Buddy’s buddy = yellow man
=this user is part of your friend’s networkI am not that certain, I just interpreted your desciption.

MemberThanks MiGS for replying…
Actually, this “yellow man” contact is on my yahoo buddy list, but I’m not on HIS list (I removed myself from his list with Trollin around’s software).
Maybe that’s why it shows the yellow man?
Would this person know if I’d created a 360 profile?
Thanks again!!

MemberHiya TTSP… and welcome to the BBB. 🙂
Firstly, it’s a pity you headed this thread “What’s The Difference..”, which could relate to ANYTHING. If the heading was, for instance, “Yahoo 360 – blue men/yellow men?” it would attract a lot more interest by those of us who follow 360.
Anyway, a very interesting subject (to me anyway), and one I am still trying to understand too.
I guess you refer to the Contacts list on the left of your 360 “Home” page. I have only BLUE men there, which are my 360 connected friends – and if I choose instead, or as well, to show my Messenger friends then they show as green plus’es.
(For those who are BOTH, the Blue Man overrides the Green Plus). But I have no Yellow Men there. 🙁
HOWEVER, on my 360 “My Page” at top of my 10 friends’ pictures, it has 2 links where it says Connect Now:
4 # address book contacts
and
24 # messenger contactsAddress Book Contacts – shows all my Yahoo contacts for whom I have an email address shown (in YM, show Address Book tab instead of Messenger, then look at the 4th column of grey blobs).
There are 3 categories of these:-- Blue Man – Those on my 360 (using THIS email address).
- “Already Invited” written in red – Those I’ve invited to 360, but haven’t accepted.
- Empty Check Box – All others, ready to invite.
Messenger Contacts – simply ALL my contacts on YM.
They all show the offline/online smiley, and apart from that they too fall into 3 categories:- Blue Man – This person is on MY 360 Friends’ List
- Yellow Man (plus check box) – This person is on 360, but is NOT on MY Friends’ List
- Empty Check Box, NO “man” – This person is NOT on 360 (well, not under this ID anyway!)
I see 360 describes Yellow Man as “in a friend’s Yahoo! 360° network”.
Well, That’s Crap! Surely one infers from that that this person is connected to a friend of yours.
In practice they MEAN simply “on 360”. I have at least 2 “yellows” I know on YM who are not connected to me, or to ANYONE, on 360! In each case they have signed up for 360, but have NO friend connections set yet. (And some in this group I HAVE Invited, while others I never have).#
I cannot figure why it mentions *4* Contacts here – as I count 10 Blue Man, 2 Already Invited, and 24 Other – a total of 36, but no “FOUR” showing anywhere !?!The *24*, bingo! I count 24 Yellow Men!

MemberHey there Eagle_Kiwi!!
First off, thanks for that tip on posting a “magnetic” subject line….I’m sure “Blue men / yellow men” would attract a lot more eyes!! 🙂
I’m glad you understand what exactly I’m confused about. From your reply, I infer that Yahoo 360 has tried to make something similar to Google’s Orkut…but tried to say it differently!
And so, “in a friend’s yahoo network” simply means that “you are in the 360 network, and so is the friend on your IM list. BUT, you two haven’t connected as friends on 360“!! I hope that’s what it is.

MemberExactly !
I didn’t know that when I STARTED my post, but thanks, TTSP – your question taught me lots 😉Glad you DID read right down to the bottom, where the clear answer emerged.
Cheers, 🙂
