Hey everybody,
I recently caught a few ads on Spike TV for their upcoming Video Game Awards (it airs Dec. 14th but I’m not sure what time, check out their website if you want) and thought to start this thread to see who everyone thinks should win the award for game of the year. Maybe we could tally up the replies here and then compare them to which game actually wins that night? It might be cool too to send these results to Spike TV after we’re done, especially if our favorites aren’t on their list. So I’m going to dig around and try to find a way to contact them too.
Here’s this year’s choices from Spike’s website (if you don’t agree, just put down your favorite):
Burnout 3: Takedown (Electronic Arts)
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar Games)
Half-Life 2 (Vivendi Universal Games)
Halo 2 (Microsoft Game Studios)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Konami)Also, what’s your all-time favorite? (I’m predicting Super Mario Brothers and CS will top the list here.)

i’m not really into video gaming anymore. I still have my sega genesis that my roommate and I wil bust out and play marathons, but that’s about it.
my favorite is probably sonic the hedgehog 2, althogh i’ve never really mastered it. i’m probably the only person in the entire world that has never beaten all the levels of a video game LoL!
From that list, i’m gonna go with San Andreas. It’s a huge game, about 5 times the size of Vice City, and is definetly the best GTA.
All time favourite? I think its out of either Final Fantasy 7 on the PS1 or Sonic 3 and Knuckles on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

– Myst (the original ;))Hm… so many games to choose from… well, the ones that I can think of right now are:
-Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
-Chrono Trigger
-Super Mario World
-Sonic 3 and Knuckles
-Super Metroiduh… I’m out for now. I can’t think of anymore.

That list I’d have to say Halo2 or GTA:SA.
Halo is just fun to play against other people and GTA…well I’m still playing it, trying to get every little bitty thing outa that game. That and Woozie’s cool.But I could sit and play FFTactics forever and never get bored. I’ve made battles last for hours and hours just to up my job level *cackle*
Alright I decided my favorite is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Metroid Prime.
I’ve never played Halo or any GTA games. I notice from that list none are Gamecube games, which is what I have.
GTA:Vice City is probably my current favorite game, since I havent goten SA yet. But I am gonna get it for my brother for Christmas, so then we will get to play it!
It’s HUGE! It’s made after LA, Vegas and San Fran. You can totally tell when you move into a new city too, it’s really neat to watch all the cities change. That and it’s -great- that you can swim finally. Everything matters and they’re really put into concern. Like if you’re too muscular, the people you hit go down faster, but you can’t run very fast. You have stamina and all this other stuff you can approve. You even have sex appeal *blink* depending on your clothes, tattooes, haircut, car you drive and your body type. It’s crazy I tell you. In order to get everything, you almost have to get the strat guide.
Vice city was nice too though, I mean, who doesn’t like blaring 80’s? Quality. I wish you could’ve gotten a “A Flock of Seagulls” haircut, though.
Yea, it sounds really cool. I can’t wait til we get it. It almost makes me want to just buy it now and not wait for Christmas.
Yeah I have three…sorry…the GTA Series, the Ratchet and Clank Series, and the Jak & Daxter Series. All are excellent games, that PSM rated “Buy or Die”.
ToS–Tales of Symphonia. Endless hours of sidequests…and some…beach costumes that ruin the game/make it funny…it’s worth it’s 50 bucks.
GTA? Nice games…but *hugs RPG’s*
*nod* I’m an RPGer at heart too. Gauntlet original and Legend of Darkness, The Old School Zeldas, Castlevania, FF (Pre X2), Star Ocean, BloodRayne, Fable, Paper Mario, Harvest Moon, Suikoden…gosh the list goes on and on and on…anyone else simply ADORE Black and White? I know, it’s PC, but so what?
