MemberThere I am, yay me. It was like, 4th grade, we were all sexist pigs. There was the new girl from another school (our school drafts kids from other schools to join the gifted center, which I’m in 😀 ), everybody’s like head over heels in love with this girl. I had no idea why, but I knew the next year. Aah… 5th grade. Everybody was young and fresh, couple more new kids. Yay me! I’m sitting across from another one of the sexist pigs from last year, the nerd, the
stupid wannabe jock dude, and some guy from India…
Whoa! In that 2 months, i really came to know this girl, I was even starting to like her (What, this forum is for all the mushy gooshy love stuff, right?) I felt like I saw here everywhere, when we worked on group projects, sitting right next to me in science class, even on the bus. Can I really make this work out? I thought to myself a bunch of times. She went from feminist to casual aquantince to friend (more than a friend, in my case *mischevious face*)
Same thing again in 6th grade, I just got mor and more to know her. She was pretty, smart, and pretty athletic. Hell we even liked the same ol’ folk music (I thought nobody had ever heard of the Kingston Trio before!)
So here we are after that. I feel seriously… attracted to her. But we’re like, only 13 and 14, so what do I do? Wait? I’ve worked my magic on her, for this ugl. He can’t remember her name, and they’re sitting there hugging before they get on the bus? WTF?
What should I do? No courage to ask her out (we’re hardly past addolecence here), and should I let her waste her time with this guy who can’t remember her name, and just wants to get inside her pants!Just looking for help, because this whole thing is real. I feel like she’s the only one out there for me, the only perfect one.

MemberWhen I read the title I thought “Green Day???”.
After I read I’m like ohhh! Well the same exact thing happened to one of my friends. Dunno how she figured out the guys name but I got a piece of advice for you. This is only if she uses any form of messenger though. Otherwise I might have to figure something else out.
So try this: Whatever messenger she uses (AIm. MSN, YIM, you name it) make another screenname. Then simply IM her when she’s online and ask her what her name is because your friend told you to talk to her but you simply “forgot” her name. So then she’ll probably give you her name and you’ll be happy.
Now that I told you a way, ask her out after you’re done mmkay? Stay strong!

MemberOh crap, I accidentally put this in the wrong section.
Actually, I know her name. Yeah, known it for years… I’m saying the jerkass-teroid she’s going out with doesn’t know her name and just calls her “boo”… ( :/ How kiddiesh)
And I don’t know her screenname, and I dont’ need it. I realized she’s a skank and I dont’ need her. I’m gonna spend less time around her and more time with my friends, my single friends 😉ANy mod can close and/or move this to the romance section.

MemberHeh, you went from loving this girl to realizing she’s a skank within 12 hours? Oh well, good luck with finding another girl man.

Participantwow man. i’d say don’t jump to such an extreme negative so quickly there. if you’ve been such close friends for so long, don’t suddenly start calling her a skank and drop her from your life just because she started getting close with some idiot jock.
she’ll figure out soon enough what an idiot he is, and then you show her how you feel about her. since you’re still young, don’t try to rush anything, just keep your friendship intact for the moment at the very least. if you want to become more than just friends and start a relationship, then fine, give it a try and good luck.
i’m having problems with the part about the guy who “just wants to get inside her pants” when she’s 13/14 years old… that’s just not right.

MemberAlright, maybe she’s not a total skank. But she’s not miss goody two shoes here (nope, that’s Rachel, and I’m never going out with that >_< ) but she's just not right. I guess i was blinded by her good looks and everything. Why waste my finest parts of life chasing this girl I know I'm never gonna get when I should be having fun with my friends?
I guess it’s like you have to be there to understand the situation. If you were here you’d know what I was talking about… the whole thing.
Will somebody for the love of god put this in the mushy gooshy forum?April 30, 2005 at 11:58 pm #120563Oreo
MemberSorry about that…..I was a bit busy this week and I’m guessing Science was as well…I’m thinking none of the globals saw this or they would have moved it. In any case….it’s moved now. And don’t go all sour grapes on the girl…she’s not the right one for you…so let it be. You’ll find the right one at the right time. In the meantime, live your life, date a lot and figure out what you do and don’t like and the kind of person you like to be around…more than just a physical attraction. 🙂 But you’ve got oodles of time until then.

Believe it Tiger, there are lots of guys (and girls) in my grade like that. It is really sad that kids that age want to have sex so soon, but then again this whole worlds morals are kind going away now…

SHe one time asked her friend “what you think it would be like to do it.”

Again, you have to be at our school to understand it.May 1, 2005 at 8:15 pm #120564Someguy03
MemberI am going through the same situation. I had a long discussion with Dave about it. I have concluded that if she doesnt LIKE like you, then theres not alot you can do. Sure, you could always go out with her, and thus keep her from going out with this so called jock, but if she doesn’t see you like that, then you can’t stop her. I tried to keep my best friend (who I ended up liking alot at some point along the way) from going out with this guy, and I kept told her how she should make sure she doesn’t go and get in bed with guys at such a young age (the guy is an ex-druggy, ex-smoker, etc, and has done alot more than most should at his age), but it mostly just made her angry. You can’t control them like you wish you could. They have to figure things out on their own.
If your afraid to ask her out, then hint at the fact that you like her. You might be surprised at her response. If she seems uninterested, maybe she doesn’t feel the same way about you, or maybe she wants to wait. The girl I was talking about basically told me she didn’t want to try dating or anyhting until we were older because shes afraid that we would end up trying to go out and messing it up early (since when your young, relationships never work, and usually when you try it young and mess it up once, its messed up forever). Just be patient, and slowly make your move. Until then, remember, you can’t tell her who she should/shouldn’t go out with, even if you think shes making a mistake. I’ve been through it all, it doesn’t work.
If her response is something of “Look, I would consider it, but I have a BF (in your case, the jock)” or “I don’t wanna try right now”, then just keep being urself, and if you want, push the limits here and there, and eventually your chance will come.
EDIT: You can still definently influence their decisions, just, not make them doing anything flat out
