April 22, 2005 at 4:35 am #119732Someguy03MemberHow can you actually look forward too it? Sure its been awhile since a new AIM version came out, but if anything, we were spoiled before. Updates came out every few weeks, 10x more often than other messengers. But keep in mind that the updates seemed to make things worse, not better.

May 1, 2005 at 9:15 pm #119738ParadizzleMemberI dont like the new beta. Anyways I’m guessing AOL will release the final version when they feel all the bugs are worked out of the beta. So probally sometime in the next two months.
May 1, 2005 at 9:19 pm #119736bronxyMemberI heard it wasnt supposed to go final until late 2005.
I’m never changing, i’m sticking with 5.5!
May 1, 2005 at 9:24 pm #119731detn8rParticipantIt’s scheduled for fall 2005.
June 9, 2005 at 9:27 am #119734WilsonMemberAIM 6.0 will come out… when it comes out.
You can’t really get an exact date on the release of something that is still in Beta. It will be released when the developers think it’s ready to be released. It’s just the same as asking when someone’s baby will be born. Sure, there’s a due date, but that’s not always accurate.
If you are anxiously awaiting the final release, I suggest you test the beta and submit some bugs and suggestions. The link is in an above post.
June 9, 2005 at 11:06 am #119735f0rbezMemberThey still have an awful lot to do in Triton. I wouldnt expect it until at least fall.
June 9, 2005 at 11:05 pm #119739SULAX50MemberI think you will see the promotion of the client on http://www.aim.com before the fall. In terms of GM (Gold Medal) releases I think fall is a good estimate. From a development perspective I don’t think we really concentrate on what “type” of release we are working towards.
FWIW, developers DEFINITELY don’t decide when a product is good enough to release, that is a decision made at many different levels.
