For some reason, when I first open a video, the sound only comes from the right speaker. I have to click on the timeline to make the sound come out from both speakers. Do you know what be going on here?!
Perhaps you’re conservative? You can’t quite seem to grasp both “sides” of the “issue” without having someone “point” it out…
ROFL nice touch. :>
Is it all games that have this problem? And what timeline are you referring to?
Is it just video, and are the speakers set to the right by default? Or is the video just encoded to the right speak only, I hate those videos with cheap audio :P. Check this:
Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume Tab > Speaker Volume… > make sure both Left and Right volumes are up all the way. Then double click the speaker icon in the tray by the clock and make sure the sliders at the top are centered, the balance ones.
It’s a funny one. I simply went to check the balance in windows media player (where the problem was happening, sorry i didnt explain) and it was actually centered!…. So i just clicked it, moved it a bit and put it back to centre and the problem was solved! Strange
I actually had a similiar problem. Before when I was on onboard sound, I never had the luxary of surround sound. When I bought my sound card, the surround kicked in, but the rear speakers were so low that you couldn’t really hear anything from them. I tried just about everything until one lonely afternoon, i messed with the fade tuner on the main speaker, and VOLIA!!
Surround sound sounds sweet when playing battlefield 2!!!
