Jeff, I was wondering if you could give us all a estimate on how long it will be until you change BBB to the new layout. And will the forum be modified?
We are still working on finalizing the design. Then the longest part is moving all of our pages over to the new design. It could be a few weeks or a few months, who knows? What modifications to the forums do you mean?
How about making the forum skinable? And maybe even the site?? Some sites I’ve seen are skinable, you can choose your desired colour and see the site according to your choice. That would be good, but it would take a lot of time, so it’s upto you. 🙂
If you have extra bandwith to spare, you could add a attatchment feature. So we could upload pictures to the forum. One good thing is that the user Doesn’t need hosting, the second good things is that old topics will not loose their images because the user deletes the image on their hosting or the hosting shuts down.
Allowing to upload things like programs could be optional, but a picuploader would be great.
I don’t agree with that. Considering the amount of users we have, this would be a really bad idea. I have an IPB forum with 6000 members and the uploader is on, people just upload anything. Any irrelevant images, it’s a right pain in the ass. We’re considering to turn it off now. Our bandwidth has increased because of that. Very bad idea!
