Member100MB is enough to hold an MP3 file, but it’ll only be there for 4 days, if I remember correctly.

Memberyou can just upload to an email and email it to yourself that might work on some email clients that are starting to allow more space

ParticipantWhat exactly do you need to do? Do you want it available for someone to download? You could always put it into a zip file with winzip or something similar and create a geocities account and upload it there.

KeymasterI agree geocities would be a convenient place to put mp3 files. I have done it to put things I’ve recorded.

ParticipantYou do realize that having a 6mb MP3 file playing on your website will force every visitor to your site to wait for that 6MB to download and play. Thus pissing off 99% of your visitors. (The 1% would be you ;)) What I’m trying to say is that 6MB is way to large of a file to have as background music.
Perhaps you should think about reencoding that file to a lower bitrate or perhaps convert it into a WMA file.

MemberInstead of converting it into a wma you can embed it into your page with windows media player or make an m3u file which would stream your file.

ParticipantHow about not imbeding _any_ audio file? 🙂 Someone on dial up (like my self) would highly thank you! 😉

Streaming is only ok as long as you don’t force the stream to load with the page.April 3, 2005 at 7:57 am #116519ys8er2323
Memberi found a great storage site, 1 gig storage of anything and 1 gig bandwidth per month.

Participanteven if you go with a storage site like ys8er2323 found, i agree with shifter and detn8r with NOT embedding a music file in your webpage. i absolutely HATE embedded sound in webpages, mostly cause i already have music playing, and the extra music just isnt worth it. if you REALLY wanna have this music playing, give the person an option to start playing it. note, i said the option to start playing it, not the option to stop it.
also, there are a few legal issues with playing a song on your webpage, namely copyright law… etc.
