Memberhi all, not sure if im posting in the correct place, forgive me if I am not, I just did a scan with adaware and it seems like someone is trying to get my password to my email………is there a way to find out who???? any info on this would certainly be greatly appreciated…i am not a internet wiz or anything, thanks:)
EDIT: Topic title changed. Please use descriptive titles – they will attract more help than something vague like “help need info”. Thanks.

ParticipantHi Welcome to BigBlueBall! Some more info would be helpful, such as what exactly ad-aware found… the more details you can give us the better. This forum is for yahoo messenger, but i’m sure one of the mods will point you in the right direction… they are very helpful… good luck!

ParticipantI’m not sure how an adaware scan would notify you that you were being hacked? Anyway, the issue isn’t finding out who is doing it (very unlikely you would ever discover that anyway), but how to prevent it from happening. Make sure your system has a firewall installed and make sure YOU don’t accept or open any files from strangers, or untrustworthy sources within your email, IM, or on the web in general. Do these two things and you will be virtually inpenetrable.

MemberWhen you first run HiJackThis it has save log button.
Click save log, it will generally place it wherever the executable is.
Just open the log in notepad and paste its contents in a reply here.
