MemberSince downloading Yahoo messenger 6.0, I have not been able to permanently ignore someone. For instance, if I am chatting in the spades lobby and the spammers hit it, I used to be able to ignore them and would never see them again. Now, when I ignore them and leave the room and come back, I have to ignore them again. Why won’t they stay on ignore?

Membercutebomberchick, thanks for trying to help but I have not exceeded my limit on the number of people that can be ignored. I am sure the problem is somehow related to the new messenger. I have heard others say they can no longer permanently ignore too. Anyone else have an idea?

MemberI have this same problem and it is really annoying (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t). Another issue that I have with Yahoo is that they only allow you to have 100 ignores. If there were only 100 bots this would be fine but it can get really annoying at times.
You might want to consider using YTunnel or YahELite.

Is the problem just in the Spades Lobby? Or does this happen in other places? Is it certain people who seem to be coming back? Or is it anyone you try to ignore?

Memberoreo, I am not sure if it doesn’t work outside of spades, that is the only place I have a need to ignore people and bots. I feel sure it has something to do with the neww Yahoo messenger since I could permanently ignore people before downloading it. Any ideas?

MemberOK, even though you do not need to iggy outside of spades…try it in a few other places. Also, check your prefs. to see if you are “available” or let people know when you are in a game. It may be that these bots and such are checking there and getting around something somehow. You may also want to go into your profile and change it so that people cannot tell when you are online. It may be that 6.0 reset the preferences….if that’s all it is…we’re in luck. Otherwise, it is time to put the thinking cap on again. 🙂 Let us know if any of those things work.

MemberDear Oreo, I have double checked all my preferences. I do not allow others to know where I am. I have, as others, tried to edit my ignore lists by trying to add and delete from it without success at times, not to mention my original complaint that when I put someone on iggy in Y spades, they only stay on iggy while I am in the room. If I leave and come back, I must iggy them again. This all started after downloading 6.0. I am sure the new messenger has a glitch that must be addressed by Yahoo. I have sent Yahoo a message on their report a bug email. Do you have the number for me to call their customer care and speak to them concerning this problem? Thanks, Mike.
