MemberI just did a search on yahoo help and there is nothing on backdoors.to, to take your name off someone else’s list. Does anyone know why this is?
Isn’t this service offered by yahoo?

Memberwhere did you get “backdoors.to” information from?
Provide more details please.January 8, 2003 at 8:51 am #65166cherry_squishy
MemberSorry…
when you click on this link
http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.done=http://backdoors.to/backdoors/yahoodenybuddy.asp?logged=y
to remove your ID from someone else’s friends list, and login, it then takes you to a page called backdoors.to, which is where you type in your ID and the ID of the person from whose list you want to be removed.

KeymasterIt is not a service publically offered by Yahoo. It is a “back door” perhaps used by customer service or some other tool that has been leaked out and is not officially supported. But heck, it works, so who cares! 🙂

MemberI don’t really have confident in those third-party sites that ask for your credentials (login/password). Yes I know, I’m a big paranoid, everybody tell me so ! 🙂
May I give you a simple suggestion : If you really want to use that website to remove/be removed from a list, you’d better change your password before, then you use that (“untrustworthy”) site. And once your operation is done, you again go in your account to change back the password !
Supposed that the site collected passwords, it won’t have your real one !
And remember : “Just because you’re paranoid, that doesn’t mean they’re not after you.” — Ed Nonymous

MemberI found the site to be quite informative.

MemberThat site is really good and it IS quite informative. When you want to use something you have to sign in to Yahoo! itself…. and I think it really does sign you into Yahoo! because my Yahoo! companion activates when I do it. It appears to be pretty up front to me. And it does what it promises….it’s something you can’t say for everything these days.
