This is really strange. I’d say this problem started to pop up the past few days or so. I know of people losing text in chatrooms but not in pm’s. My friends say they can see me typing but no message gets delivered to them. I can type fine in a chatroom or conferences but not through pm’s :(. Anybody know why? This is not a constant problem it seems to happen on and off the past 3-4 days maybe. I’m still using Yahoo 7.5 if that helps. It doesn’t matter if I change screen names either. I still get this problem.
This seems to be a somewhat common problem. Are you using a add-on program like Y!Tunnel? If so, that’s probably the cause of the problem(s). If not, then try updating to the latest Yahoo 8, as it may correct your problems. I hope this helps.

Are these people on your friends list?
a common cause of this is with the “ignore anybody not on my messenger list” option under ignore in preferences.
Yahoo! have changed how this function operates in Y! Messenger 8.0 so updating would be a recommendation or toggle the option to “only ignore the people below”
However it can be a application layer gateway probem which Y! tunnel is and may cause it also and it could also be a Y! network issue but trying the above methods may help you.
Thanks for the replies guys, but I am neither using Ytunnel nor do I have the ignore anybody not on my messenger list checked. I am quite aware of all the changes in version 8. Like I said, this problem just seemed to occur randomly and started 3-4 days ago. It’s off and on. I don’t have any addons installed either so that’s what is quite baffling. The people whom I pm with are ones on my buddylist. I have tested it out on my own screen name and only see myself typing once. It’s not that big of a deal though. I’ll try upgrading to version 8 sometime tomorrow and see if the problem still persists. Thanks.
