I have noticed that when I install Windows XP Service Pack 1 and restart my computer I can no longer use the webcam. When I try to start my webcam, Yahoo Messenger just hangs there and also when I go to Yahoo Messenger website to do the compatibility test the Internet Explorer hangs as well.
Does anyone else have this problem, and is it really caused by SP1.
Thanks
Are you using the current build? … There WERE problems in the past

Also – XP’s (firewall) security settings had to be altered to get a webcam to work in the first place. Check to see if SP1 reset these settings (port 5100, etc)
Look back through posts to do with webcams & you’ll find all kinds of details as to just what to do for XP
