ok, I have a problem. I’m currently updating my school’s computers in their computer lab (yes, over Christmas break 🙁 ). anyway… they are running Windows 2000 and since we are a private school, our computers… uh… arn’t the newest. as a matter of fact, I think this is the first time some of these have been updated. so I go to update, and the first time around, they all work fine. But I wanted to be sure that I had all of the updates possible… so I run a second test, and I get an error, on all of the computers except three, and those three work fine. every other computer has this error: 0x8ddd0009. I looked at the microsoft website (silly me) and they didn’t have anything on this error. any ideas?

You say you searched MS, but how about a full internet search, simply on that error code ?
That should reveal sites like THIS, that looks quite helpful !?December 29, 2006 at 12:56 am #156218Soccer4dummysMembersorry, I should have said this in my first post. Yes I did do a few internet searches, but none of their ideas worked. However, I didn’t see that website, and they have some new ideas, but I won’t have a chance to try them. after a while, I finally (in my great wisdom) just rebooted all of them, and :-O they work! thanks for the post tho.
December 29, 2006 at 6:43 am #156216SpikeMemberJust wanted to point something out… Windows 2000 has been in “Extended Support” via Microsoft for about 6 months now, and soon they won’t support it at all. Hell, I’m surprised you were able to even update, I thought they discontinued them. Nevertheless, my point is that I’m suggesting an upgrade. I know schools can sometimes not have the best budgets, but you’ve also got to consider that Microsoft won’t give you support for it at all in the near future. Just a thought. 🙂

September 1, 2007 at 3:02 pm #156220Soccer4dummysMemberAny idea when they will cut 2000 from the updates?
Also, we got 6 xp computers donated. Pretty sweet, but we have… like… 20 of the 2000’s left.
And, yes, money is very tight. We are building a locker room, and all our money is pretty much going into that. Everybody likes sports better than the computers. *sigh* -
