Windows Live Messenger 2009 Release Candidate (14.0.8050.1202) has been included in the new release of the Windows Live Essentials package.
The update includes a new theme, tray icon and sign in screen as well as nearly 200 bug fixes.
Unfortunately Messenger Plus is not 100% compatible, but some features will still work.

I’ll live without Messenger Plus for now, but I need my mess patch!

Well for the moment there is always A-Patch:
A-Patch for Windows Live Messenger, MSN Messenger & Yahoo! Messenger
That’ll do! 😀
One thing that I will admit that I miss from either an older version of a final build, or a previous beta, is the status icon showing in the messages in the task bar. They all show a plain gray icon, which is always making me think they are offline. I liked it when it changed upon my contacts’ status.
I use to use Secway’s Simp Lite for msn encryption but it doesn’t work with this new release. Does anybody knos how to get it worked or any other software for encryption with this release.
thanks in advance
