I got a new computer recently which had Windows Messenger installed onto it. I used it for a couple of days until my friend told me that it puts spyware onto your computer or something. He gave me a little program to get rid of it and I did. Does it really cause problems on your computer? I didn’t think it would but he seemed ot be really sure about it.
Umm… definitely no spyware 😉 It MAY cause problems if you decided to keep your password saved on MSN Messenger. Sometimes it would fight for which messenger wants to be connected. And at times, Windows Messenger will load “secretly” and you don’t even know it’s connected until a contact signs on, or sends you a message.
Removing it is really no big deal. It could cause an issue with Outlook Express, but it probably won’t do you any harm. And again, as for anything “bad”, no there’s nothing wrong with it 😛
Oh okay, thank you for replying. 😀
My friend seems to know everything about computers so that’s why I asked here to make sure. Maybe I shouldn’t of deleted it in that case lol. Oh well! I’m happy with MSN Messenger anyway at the moment. I will upgrade to Live Messenger in the near distant future.
Thanks again!
